KidsFirst Learning Center

KidsFirst Learning Center, a ministry of First Baptist Church of Middleburg, is a program designed to enhance your child's spiritual, mental, social, and physical development. It is our goal to provide families with quality Christian childcare and in a safe and fun learning environment for their children, infant to age 5. Each teacher strives to provide an atmosphere of love that comes from their own personal relationship to Christ, along with a developmentally sound curriculum. Preschool classrooms use the WEE Learn Preschool Curriculum and Links to Literacy in conjunction with other supplemental activity material.  Our curriculum is developmentally solid, age-appropriate, and Christ-centered. The program consists of both indoor and outdoor activities, alternating active and quiet play and learning with snack and rest time.  Classes explore music, science, cooking, Bible stories and verses, as well as letters, numbers, colors, shapes, and more. KidsFirst Learning Center is licensed by the State Department of Children and Families.

Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Program (VPK)
The VPK program is for our four year olds. Children must turn four by September 1, 2011. To participate in this program, each child will need an Eligibility Form from Episcopal Children’s Service. You can visit www.ecs4kids.org to obtain dates of Roundups.
Our focus in the classroom is to prepare them for Kindergarten. There is an extensive concentration on learning how to: recognize and write their names, the alphabet, beginning sounds, word recognition, and beginning reading skills. They have opportunities to explore:
• Science
• Math
• Literacy
• Social Sciences
• Geography
• Bible stories
• Music
We teach them skills to be more independent and to problem solve. Their fine motor skills are more developed at this age. They can hold crayons, markers, and pencils with more control. The use of manipulatives further develops these fine motor skills.
